We believe in practical learning as well as didactic teaching.
RAO Health Training Centre (HTC) was founded in 2013 by a well-known U.S.-trained surgeon and reverend, Dr. Phinehas Ziki Makoyo. Dr. Makoyo had a vision to expand health care education in rural Lake Victoria lakeshore region, with a focus in practical learning as well as rigorous coursework. Our students benefit from our unique affiliation with RAO Hospital and RAO Laboratory, which allows our students to augment their book learning with real world experience. We believe learning is multi-modal, as such we expose our students to learning through practical sessions, video, computer sessions, in addition to didactic lectures.
